Mechanical maintenance engineer

Job Summary The Mechanical Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and optimization of mechanical equipment and systems in industrial environments such as factories, plants, and manufacturing facilities. The role focuses on ensuring reliable, efficient, and safe mechanical operations through preventive and corrective maintenance programs. Roles & Responsibilities Install, align, and commission mechanical equipment including pumps, compressors, gearboxes, conveyors, and hydraulic systems. Conduct routine and preventive maintenance to minimize equipment failures and unplanned downtime. Diagnose mechanical issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions. Inspect equipment performance using appropriate tools and maintenance techniques. Repair or replace worn or damaged components such as bearings, seals, couplings, and belts. Reassemble, test, and verify overhauled equipment for proper operation. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repair history, and spare-parts usage. Prepare equipment condition reports and recommend maintenance or operational improvements. Coordinate with production teams, maintenance personnel, and supervisors to ensure uninterrupted operations. Provide technical guidance and support to junior technicians when required. Follow applicable safety procedures, PPE requirements, and industrial maintenance standards. Mandatory Requirements Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Experience: 2-4 years of mechanical maintenance experience in an industrial environment. Hands-on experience with mechanical systems, rotating equipment, and hydraulic components. Strong knowledge of mechanical principles and maintenance practices. Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, and schematics. Strong troubleshooting and mechanical failure-solving capabilities. Good communication and teamwork skills.
