Senior planning & scheduling engineer

Position Objective Develop and maintain detailed project schedules track progress and identify potential delays to ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope Job Description amp Responsibilities The Planning amp Scheduling Manager is responsible for creating maintaining and managing project schedules to ensure that construction projects are completed on time and within budget This role involves using scheduling software such as Primavera P6 to develop detailed project plans identify critical paths and track project progress The Planning amp Scheduling Manager also plays a crucial role in identifying potential delays and working with the project team to implement recovery plans Schedule Development Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or similar scheduling software Ensure that all project activities are accurately reflected in the schedule including critical paths dependencies and milestones Schedule Management Regularly review and update project schedules to reflect the status of work Evaluate the impact of schedule changes on the overall project timeline and communicate any necessary adjustments to the project team Progress Tracking Track project progress against the baseline schedule identifying any variances and potential delays Provide regular updates to the project team and management on schedule status Critical Path Analysis Identify the critical path of the project and monitor key activities that could impact the project s timeline Work with the project team to address any issues that could cause delays Delay Mitigation Proactively identify potential delays and work with the project team to develop and implement recovery plans Ensure that the project remains on track and that any schedule impacts are minimized Reporting Prepare and distribute regular schedule reports to stakeholders including updates on project progress critical path analysis and any schedule changes Ensure that all reports are accurate and provide actionable insights Stakeholder Communication Communicate schedule updates and changes to relevant stakeholders including project managers engineers and clients Ensure that all parties are informed of schedule impacts and any necessary actions Continuous Improvement Identify opportunities to improve scheduling processes and tools Implement best practices and innovations to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of project scheduling Qualifications & Experience Minimum of 7+ years of experience in construction scheduling, with a strong background in using scheduling software like Primavera P6. Strong understanding of scheduling techniques, critical path analysis, and project sequencing.
